Jurgen Klopp has been told Ferran Torres would be a 'perfect fit' for his Liverpool team amid transfer links with the Valencia starlet.
Torres is one of the brightest young stars in Spain's La Liga and has been attracting interest from across Europe.
Speculation has suggested the 20-year-old could be on the move this summer, with Barcelona also keeping tabs on the midfielder.
But Valencia's former sporting director, Fernando Gomez, feels Torres and Liverpool would be an ideal match.
“Ferran Torres is a great player," Torres told Football Espana. "He has emerged very young and that is proof of his maturity.
"He’s skillful, he’s great one-on-one, he’s quick and he even scores goals.
“He can perform well in any team and in any league. In England too, of course, at Liverpool or any other team. Klopp’s system fits him and he is mentally very strong to cope with pressure and demands."
Torres was reported to have a £92million release clause in his contract, though it is not known whether it has now expired, given the deal only runs until 2021.
Valencia would struggle to command anywhere near that figure this summer knowing they could lose him for nothing next year.
Much will depend of course on how much clubs are willing or able to spend in the summer's transfer market in the current economic crisis.
Liverpool are expected to strengthen their squad and have been heavily linked with Red Bull Leipzig striker Timo Werner, though the German would have to play second fiddle to the Reds' front three.
