Kane reacts to moving past Henry on all-time Premier League top-scorers list

Harry Kane took his Premier League goals tally to an enormous 176 on Monday night, moving past Arsenal legend Thierry Henry on the all-time top-scorers list.

Kane was in fine form as Tottenham battered Everton 5-0 in north London scoring in each half, with the second a memorable stike.

The England captain watched a ball over the back four from Matt Doherty come over his shoulder and then calmly placed a volley into the far corner past Jordan Pickford.

It was a goal of the quality that deserved to see Kane move past Henry in the scoring charts, and he is now just one behind Frank Lampard on that list.

Kane sits sixth on the all-time Premier League scoring list and intends to keep moving past the five players above him.

‘Obviously whenever I’m mentioned with the names like that. Thierry was one of the greatest Premier League strikers we’ve seen, so to go above him now is a nice little milestone,’ Kane told Sky Sports.

🗣 “A sparkling finish from this EXTRAORDINARY footballer”

‘Then we just keep going. I feel like I’ve got plenty more years in me, so hopefully I’ll keep ticking off those names, keep helping the team with my goals.

‘Then we’ll see where we end up.’

Kane is still a long way behind the Premier League top-scorer Alan Shearer, who netted 260 times in the division, but former Spurs and Manchester United star Teddy Sheringham has no doubt that he will catch the Newcastle legend.

‘Without a doubt, like he’s just said, he’s got a lot of years left. He’s got at least five more years at the top,’ said Sheringham, who scored 146 Premier League goals himself.

‘The way he scores goals in numbers. Yes, without a doubt.’
