Jose Mourinho has issued a humbling climbdown over his public fitness session.
Mourinho is understood to have been spoken to by the club as the hierarchy was unimpressed after the Tottenham boss was pictured out in public along with Tanguy Ndombele, Davinson Sanchez and Ryan Sessegnon.
But Mourinho has now admitted he got it wrong over the social distancing guidelines, promised to follow Government advice in future and urged everyone else to do the same.
Mourinho said: “I accept that my actions were not in line with government protocol and we must only have contact with members of our own household.
“It is vital we all play our part and follow government advice in order to support our heroes in the NHS and save lives.”
Mirror Sport understands that Mourinho offered to do some work with Ndombele to help the Spurs midfielder during the lockdown.
They live near to Hadley Common in North London where the pictures were taken as Ndombele has struggled to settle into English football and Mourinho has been keen to help him.
Sanchez and Sessegnon also live nearby and were pictured jogging out together, although running so closely side-by-side is bound to have caused concern. But they did not take part in the session with Ndombele.
A Tottenham Hotspur spokesperson said: “All of our players have been reminded to respect social distancing when exercising outdoors.”
