Jamie Carragher has sparked "heated discussions" with Chelsea fans over his belief that Manchester United should nab Thomas Tuchel as their next manager.
The Sky Sports pundit, 44, outrageously claimed that the Red Devils should use the sanctions imposed by the UK government on Roman Abramovich to steal Tuchel away from Stamford Bridge.
And Carragher stood by his sensational plot when quizzed by host David Jones on Monday Night Football.
"I had a few heated discussions at Stamford Bridge yesterday," said Carragher.
"I wouldn’t change my opinion on it [Tuchel to Man Utd] and the reason why I think it’s a little bit hypocritical of Chelsea supporters is that if teams, whether that’s Manchester United with the manager or people thinking they can get Chelsea players, are going to take advantage [of the situation] that they’re in right now."
"Chelsea have been doing that for 20 years. That was the big thing of Roman Abramovich coming."
Under current government sanctions, the Blues are prohibited from several day-to-day business functions including the sale of club merchandise and tickets.
In addition, Thomas Tuchel's side are no longer allowed to offer current players new contracts and away day travel cannot exceed £20,000.
And whilst Man Utd's potential plot to steal Tuchel is the least of Chelsea's worries, Carragher added further controversy by insisting that profiting from other clubs' bleak situations has been the Blues' methodology for 20 years.
