Man City V Liverpool: Pictures
Manchester City star Jack Grealish gave a brilliant interview after his Man-of-the-Match performance sealed a memorable 4-1 thrashing of Liverpool. The winger scored the final goal in the thumping win over City’s Premier League rivals to boost their title chances.
But Grealish revealed he was a doubt for the game after feeling unwell all morning. He was unsure if he would be fit to face Liverpool.
“I was in the toilet! I felt sick all morning but I feel alright now!,” Grealish told BT Sport.
“It was a brilliant performance. We knew it was going to be a tough game against Liverpool. We wanted to start this last period of the season right. We responded brilliantly to going behind and we were excellent in the second half.”
City ensured they put pressure on title rivals Arsenal by momentarily closing the gap between themselves and the Gunners. Grealish has warned the north Londoners that they will chase them right until the end of the season.

The England ace added: “Arsenal are a great team. It’s in their hands at the moment. But we’re going to do everything we can to chase them. We’ve got to keep winning games.”
It is another in a series of fantastic interviews from Grealish. The 27-year-old has become famed for his very candid approach to speaking to the media.
At the World Cup in November, a clip of Grealish speaking to talkSPORT went viral. Making a point about how the opinions of the England team can waver game-to-game, he said: “After the Iran game we were the best thing since sliced bread…”
But when the interview was clipped up for social media, Grealish’s thick Brummie accent was mistaken for having said: “Best thing since sliced veg.” Laughing about the interview at a later date, the former Aston Villa captain suggested the clip had been edited.

After an excellent return to Premier League action in the months after the Qatar tournament, Grealish was particularly impressive in City’s 4-2 win over Tottenham. And he hilariously responded to a question by Sky Sports’ Patrick Davison about his “highlight” of Grealish’s performance being a tackle on Son Heung-min.
The City man gave Davison a confused look before joking: “I know what you’re talking about but it’s never a good sign when that’s the highlight of a winger’s match!”
Davison insisted: “I didn’t realise I was insulting you! Sorry, Jack. I just thought it’s not something we always see or associate with you, was what I was going to say.” The pair then embraced.
