Inter Milan are set to pay less than £7million to bring Romelu Lukaku back on loan from Chelsea.
The Serie A side have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Lukaku, 29, for the season, less than a year after they sold him to the Blues for £97.5million. Having struggled last season, the Belgium international will return to the club for whom he scored 64 goals between 2019 and 2021.
The loan fee is said to be around €8m, or £6.9m – just over 7 per cent of the price Chelsea paid for him last August. Inter don't have the funds to buy him outright.

Their financial struggles were part of the reason they let him go. He had fired them to the Serie A title the previous campaign, thriving under Antonio Conte's guidance.
Lukaku is understood to have taken a hefty pay cut on his wages to get the green light for the move, which now just rests on a medical. Should he pass that, he will link up with Simone Inzaghi's side for the duration of the 2022/23 campaign.

Lukaku's Premier League comeback quickly turned from a dream to a nightmare. He had a torrid time both on and off the pitch last season.
He scored 15 goals in all competitions, with eight of those coming in the top flight. But those numbers rather flatter him, with his performances leaving a lot to be desired – such as when he had seven touches in 90 minutes against Crystal Palace.
A bombshell interview with Sky Italy, in which he declared his regret over the manner of his Inter exit, last December marked the beginning of the end.
He said: "I really hope in the depths of my heart to return to Inter, not at the end of my career, but at a still good level to hopefully win more." And he has now got his wish.
