Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio insists he will not be letting any of the club’s players leave in January, particularly if Antonio Conte comes calling. The former Nerazzurri boss is now back in management with Tottenham and there has been plenty of talk that he could raid his old side of their most-prized assets.

Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici moved quickly to wrap up the capture of Conte this time around after previously failing earlier this summer.

The Spurs hierarchy are understood to have made several guarantees to Conte in order to entice him to move to north London.

One of which is funds to spend in the transfer market and the squad is in desperate need of some serious reinvestment.

Given Conte’s recent ties to Inter – who he guided to the Scudetto last season – there has already been some suggestion that he could raid his old side.

Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolo Barella have already been linked, although the midfielder is expected to sign a new deal imminently.

Barella was signed by Conte and has become one of the club’s most important players. He is considered a future Inter captain.

Stefan De Vrij has also been earmarked as a potential target for Conte as he looks to rebuild Tottenham’s defence.

De Vrij has been excellent as part of a back-three at the San Siro since starring in a similar system at Lazio.

Marcelo Brozovic too has been backed to leave on a free transfer for north London when his contract expires.

But Inter are not prepared to let that happen as they prepare to block any advances on their players from Conte.

Their sporting director Ausilio has told Sky Italia: “I’m not worried about Antonio Conte and our players. In January we won’t consider any possible exit”

One player that won’t be out of reach for Tottenham is Fiorentina frontman Dusan Vlahovic.

Express Sport reported last summer that Spurs technical director Paratici was in talks with Vlahovic’s camp but Tottenham were unable to agree a deal.

The Serbian has now decided against signing a contract extension with La Viola, meaning he will be up for grabs in upcoming transfer windows before his deal expires in 2023.

Tottenham are believed to be keen on adding him to their squad to form a potential partnership with talisman striker Harry Kane.

Vlahovic is one of several Serie A stars Conte and Spurs could now turn to as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the second half of the season.
