A career as one of the greatest footballers of all time has certainly served to turn heads towards Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Juventus talisman has been linked with a number of partners over the years, ranging from supermodels to shop assistants, but perhaps none were of a higher profile than Paris Hilton.
Rumours first arose after the pair were pictured getting close to one another at a Los Angeles nightclub in June 2009, the same month his transfer to Real Madrid from Manchester United was confirmed.
Hilton – now 40 – was coy on the matter at the time but denied any romantic connotations to their relationship: "Cristiano and I are good friends. Very good friends. He's a nice guy – and an incredible athlete. We're getting to know each other and I have to leave it at that."
The alleged tryst proved short-lived as the two soon went their separate ways, with Hilton allegedly rejecting Ronaldo after determining he was too much of a "sissy" for her tastes.
A report from the National Enquirer quoted a source suggesting Hilton was in search of a more burly partner: "She likes her guys to be macho – and as far as she's concerned Ronaldo turned out to be a real sissy.
"She likes her men rugged, it's as simple as that. She thought her friends would laugh at her if she dated a guy who walks around with flowers in his hair.

"He was just too uptight for her to find attractive. In the end, Paris realised their relationship simply wasn't clicking. Paris got to know him and realised he's not nearly hot enough."
It’s debatable as to whether Hilton – the eldest of four siblings and heiress to her family fortune – would feel the same lack of affection towards the player in the present day.
Still at the top of his game and leading Portugal at Euro 2020, Ronaldo is frequently hailed for his chiseled physique, though he was unable to prevent Juve from slipping to fourth in Serie A this past season.
The 36-year-old won the first of his Ballon d’Or trophies in 2008 and has since gone on to be recognised as the world’s best player five times.
Ronaldo became Real’s all-time top scorer after bagging 450 goals in 438 outings for Los Blancos, ending his nine-year stay in Madrid to join Juventus for £88.3million in 2018.
Portugal’s captain is settled with current partner Georgina Rodriguez, who gave birth to the youngest of his four children—a daughter, Alana Martina—in November 2017.

Rodriguez, 27, seems cemented in Ronaldo’s kingdom after she was seen filming her self-titled Netflix series, which will document her life living with one of football’s most celebrated figures.
While Ronaldo’s public profile has only grown since their brief entanglement, Hilton has stepped away from the spotlight in recent years.
Leaving the single life behind, the socialite-turned-businesswoman confirmed in February that she was engaged to venture capitalist Carter Reum.
There’s no hint of wedding bells for Ronaldo and Rodriguez just yet, but both he and Hilton appear content with their lots following that LA fling more than a decade ago.
