Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is reportedly attempting to persuade his former club to try and sign Anderlecht youngster Albert Sambi Lokonga.
The Gunners are likely to be on the lookout for a new central midfielder this summer amid suggestions that Granit Xhaka could depart, and Brighton’s Yves Bissouma has been mentioned as a possible target.
However, according to Voetbal 24, Henry has ‘put in a good word’ for Lokonga and believes that he would be a good option for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Lokonga plays for Belgium’s Under-21 side and received his first senior call-up in March.
Although he wasn’t included in Belgium’s squad for Euro 2020, the 21-year-old is seen as a talented prospect.

Henry recently rejoined Begium’s coaching staff for this summer’s tournament having previously worked with them between 2016 and 2018. The Frenchman, who is Arsenal’s all-time record goalscorer, had spells as manager of Monaco and Montreal Impact.
Lokonga made 27 league appearances for Anderlecht this season, during which time he scored on three occasions, while he also provided two assists.
The youngster has just over two years remaining on his Anderlecht contract.
