Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott appeared to pick up a serious injury during Sunday afternoon’s clash with Leeds United at Elland Road. The former Blackburn Rovers loanee was felled by a robust challenge from Pascal Struijk, who was promptly shown a red card for his actions.

It was apparent from the moment Elliott went down that his problem would be serious, with a number of his Liverpool team-mates and Jurgen Klopp immediately recoiling in shock.

He was quickly attended to by Reds physios before referee Craig Pawson had even blown his whistle to halt proceedings.
