Tottenham forward Harry Kane has been irked by Nuno Espirito Santo’s desire to involve him in Sunday’s opening Premier League match against Manchester City, according to reports. The 27-year-old is angling for a move away from north London ahead of this month’s transfer deadline, with the newly-crowned Premier League champions understood to be keen admirers.
Kane has been training by himself after returning to Tottenham on Saturday as he continues his period of isolation at the club’s Spurs Lodge facility.
The England skipper is expected to partake in full team sessions from Thursday but is still desperate to find a way out in search of a new challenge.
City are interested in bringing Kane to the Etihad Stadium over the coming weeks as Pep Guardiola seeks a top-class replacement for Sergio Aguero, who joined Barcelona on a free transfer back in May.
Last season’s Champions League finalists have already seen a bid in the region of £100million knocked back by Spurs, with chairman Daniel Levy eager to keep hold of Kane into the new season and beyond.
The controversial 59-year-old would reportedly consider a minimum offer of £160m, but unless City are prepared to meet his lofty demands, Kane will likely remain a Spurs player.

No further progress has been made by City in their efforts to land the forward, and Nuno is said to be planning to include him on Sunday as a result.
However, the Portuguese manager’s decision has not gone down well with Kane, who is unhappy with the situation, according to The Sun.
The report claims that he was hoping to be left out of the squad to face City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as a result of his desire to leave the club this summer.
He is expected to be given a role to play despite his wishes, but it remains to be seen whether he will start the match or take up a place on the substitutes’ bench.
It is suggested that Kane’s delayed return to Spurs was influenced in part by the assumption that he would not be involved against City.
However, it seems as though his plan could be set to backfire, with Nuno keen to deploy his star man in order to stand the best chance of making a winning start to the new campaign.
The Spurs boss revealed earlier this week that Kane would be in contention to feature against City, with the 47-year-old refusing to condemn his player’s late return to training.
“All the players in the squad that work on a daily basis will be options for us, then it’s up to us to decide,” Nuno told reporters.

“First of all we have to speak [with Kane]. This is going to happen today [Monday], and after that we hope to solve all the situations.
“It’s not about that [Kane’s late return], it’s about what we have to do to solve the situation. This is important.
“We have to solve it together, everybody involved has to solve it together. Speaking, having a nice conversation and putting our opinions, but everybody together.”
