Harry Kane ‘launching branded loo roll and toothpaste’ in bid to make thousands

Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is reportedly set to launch his own brand of toilet roll and toothpaste in a bid to clean up and make thousands of pounds.

Kane, 28, is hoping to cash in on his personal popularity as England captain by flogging a whole host of items associated with his name.

According to The Sun, the forward has applied to trademark tonnes of items, ranging from cosmetics to games, alcohol, electrical equipment, clothing, jewellery and food.

The decision – made by his company HK28 – is an attempt to protect his name, brand and current fame for future commercial use.

Branding expert Simon Kingsnorth said: "Footballers have massive global identities so he is protecting that.

"The opportunity to make money from these things is enormous.

"Some of these things he may want to take advantage of when he’s retired."

Documents have been filed with the Government’s Intellectual Property Office.

HK28 is a combination of Kane's initials and his birthday – July 28.

The superstar forward will be hoping his own brand items go down better than his attempt to force through a move to Manchester City during the summer.

Kane desperately wanted to go to the Etihad but was face down by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who was adamant his prized asset should remain at the club.

Levy won the battle and Kane is still at Tottenham but both player and club look a shadow of their former selves so far this season.

After starting the campaign with three wins from three, Nuno Espirito Santo's side are now on a three-game losing streak following last weekend's humbling 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.

Kane, who missed the club's opener match of the season against City, has looked disinterested and lethargic and is without a goal or an assist to his name in the top-flight so far this term.
