Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Leroy Sane is likely to quit Manchester City this summer.
The Germany international hasn't featured for the club in the Premier League this season after picking up a knee injury in the Community Shield against Liverpool at Wembley, with that blow seemingly ruining his prospects of a move to Bayern Munich.
He is now back training with the City squad and could play a part in the delayed season, but Guardiola says he is likely to soon be leaving the club.
"Leroy said he doesn’t want to extend his contract," said the City boss at his virtual press conference ahead of City's game at home to Burnley on Monday.
"If he wants to leave and it is going to happen this summer or at the end of the contract.
"The club talked to me a few times, he rejected his contract so he wants to play at another club.
"I think everybody knows and if at the end of this season an agreement can be found he will leave, if not he will leave at the end of his contract."
Sane was an unused substitute in the 3-0 win over Arsenal on Wednesday, but Guardiola failed to confirm whether or not he could figure against the Clarets.
"Leroy was a long time away," he said.
"He is training without pain and that is a good sign.
"We have a bigger squad right now, everybody is fit and I am going to take a decision.
"It depends on many reasons. It depended on that moment, and the way we were training.
"Bernardo [Silva] and Phil [Foden] played incredibly and they were not selected.
"I will try to move the team, some will play more than the others and I will try to let them play."
