Europa League draw: Manchester United to face LASK in last-16

Manchester United will take on Austrian side LASK in the last-16 of the Europa League as they look to book their spot in the quarter-finals.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are one of three British outfits left in the competition after thumping Club Brugge 5-0 at Old Trafford, to win 6-1 on aggregate and will travel to Austria for the first leg in what is a favourable draw.

Wolves, who beat Espanyol, and Rangers, who knocked out Braga, joined them in qualifying for the latter stages of the tournament and will face Greek side Olympiacos – who took out Arsenal in the last-32. and German outfit Bayer Leverkusen respectively.

The first leg will take place on Thursday March 12, with the second leg ties following a week later on Thursday March 19.

Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan, who boast Romelu Lukaku, Ashley Young and Alexis Sanchez among their ranks – all of whom have all played for United, are the joint favourites to lift the trophy along with United, with Sevilla just ahead of Wolves in the bookmakers’ odds.

Former Chelsea boss Conte saw his Inter side – who are third in Serie A – beat Ludogorets 4-1 on aggregate in the last-32 and will face Getafe next.

There is one tie yet to be completed, with Eintracht Frankfurt travelling to face Red Bull Salzburg on Friday night after their tie was postponed due to weather concerns. Frankfurt won the first leg 4-1. The winner will take on FC Basel.
