Dani Ceballos gives Arsenal fans hope of transfer with Community Shield reaction

Dani Ceballos has congratulated Arsenal on social media for beating Liverpool to win the Community Shield – and Gunners fans are desperate to see him rejoin the club.

Ceballos, 24, spent the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Arsenal, playing a crucial part in their FA Cup final triumph over Chelsea earlier this month.

But after helping Mikel Arteta land his first trophy as a manager, the Spaniard returned to parent club Real Madrid upon the expiry of his loan.

Reports suggest the Gunners are interested in signing him on a permanent basis, nonetheless, meaning he is still keeping an eye on their progress.

And when theybeat Liverpool on penalties to win the Community Shield on Saturday afternoon, Ceballos took to Twitter to congratulate his former side.

Along with a video of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converting the winning penalty at Wembley, the Madrid star wrote: “YEEEEESSSSS !!!! Congratulations @Arsenal”.

Ceballos’ tweet has left the Arsenal faithful calling for his return, with several urging him to “come home” in the replies.

One wrote: “Come back home to [the] Emirates, Dani!!”

“Yesss Dani! Come back!!” said another.

A third supporter posted: “We love you broooo”.

“Come back to the Arsenal,” wrote another.

While one quipped: “It’s pronounced as ‘Home’ Dani not ‘Arsenal’”.

Arteta remains hopeful that Ceballos will return to the Emirates this summer, shedding light on Arsenal’s pursuit of the player prior to Saturday’s Community Shield win.

“Well, we have [had] some talks and Dani knows really well what I think about him,” he said.
