Chelsea player ratings vs West Ham

Edouard Mendy – 7

Had little to do early on as Chelsea dominated. Voice rings out in empty stadiums – commands defence well.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 7

Brought in with Reece James injured. Caught out once or twice – but so determined. Reliable.

Thiago Silva – 8

Thumped home an excellent  header for his second goal or the club goal. Great leader.

Kurt Zouma – 6

Commanding in the air. But got caught out on the ground too often.

Ben Chilwell – 6

Twisted ankle and limped off early (sub Emerson 9 mins)

N’Golo Kante – 7

Efficient as ever in the middle. Mopped up well – but several passes were sloppy.

Caused the Hammers one or two problems. Beats his man well but too often no end product. Never stopped.

Recalled to the team. Worked hard, found it hard to keep the ball but rewarded for his perseverance.

No goals in eight games before last night. Showed as he missed a great chance.
