Chelsea player ratings vs Tottenham: N’Golo Kante stands out as Blues’ forwards struggle

Chelsea couldn’t break down Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and had to settle for a goalless draw in their London derby. Good early save from Aurier’s shot. Authoritative. Commanded his area.

Reece James – 7

Got forward well but troubled by Bergwijn coming down his flank. Good crosses. Booked.

Kurt Zouma – 7

Powerful as ever in the air. So strong and getting better on the ball. Booked. 

Thiago Silva – 7

So commanding and cool at the back. Used the ball well.

Ben Chilwell – 7

Couple of good bursts down the line. Wasted one chance.

N’Golo Kante – 8

So crucial in that deep role but also gets forward well and sharp passer. Never gives up and always in the right place.

Mateo Kovacic – 6

Neat and tidy but struggled to make an impact. Got better as th game went on.

Mason Mount – 7

One of two good bursts forward. Neat and skilful. Foiled at the end by great save. 

Hakim Ziyech – 6

Quiet – had an early shot but didn’t really threaten. Needs to do more. 

Timo Werner – 6

Had one effort disallowed when offside. Quiet. Poor game by his standards.

Tammy Abraham – 6

Held the ball up well, but didn’t do enough. Didn’t make the most of his chances.
