Frank Lampard reviews Real Madrid's win against Chelsea
Former Chelsea star Florent Malouda has revealed he is ‘campaigning’ for Kylian Mbappe to join his old club. The ex-winger wants to see his fellow Frenchman quit Paris Saint-Germain to play in the Premier League.
Chelsea are expected to spend big once again in the summer but have not been strongly linked with Mbappe, which is unsurprising given their current Premier League form.
Mbappe signed a mega £1million per-week contract but reports in the French media claim he could depart at the end of the season. PSG’s incredible front three of Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi is likely to be split up ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
Former France international Malouda has now revealed that he has been pleading with the current national team captain to join Chelsea. However, he added that he has so far been unsuccessful with his speculative attempts.

“I’ve been campaigning for him to join Chelsea for a very long time! So far I’ve failed but I will keep trying,” Malouda told ICE 36.
“Hopefully we will see him in the Premier League because that is the most competitive league in the world – it would be great to see him here. There are not that many teams that can give him what he wants and there are not that many teams that can build their team around him.
“He is a leader, he’s just been appointed the captain of the French national team and he will be looking for a leadership role at his next club, which can create problems.”
Asked whether co-owner Todd Boehly might be preparing a move for the superstar, Malouda added: “I think Boehly and everyone in football already knows about Kylian.

“Any owner would have Mbappe on his list, but it’s really about the right connection on a human level. We can talk about the millions he would cost in transfer fees or wages, but it’s always the human relationship that has the biggest impact on the decision of any player.”
Despite being linked with a departure, Mbappe recently insisted he wants to win the Champions League with PSG. He said: “The next step? Winning the Champions League. I have already made a final, semi-final, quarter-final, round of 16 … I have done everything but win. That’s all I need. Where [I want to do it]? In Paris. I’m a Parisian and under contract. So it’s PSG.”
