Carragher left discombobulated as Souness interrupts his analysis of Lukaku

Jamie Carragher was left discombobulated following the draw between Chelsea and Liverpool after Graeme Souness interrupted his analysis of Romelu Lukaku's current situation.

The Belgian striker was a hot topic of discussion on before, during and after Sunday's match after being left out of the Chelsea squad by manager Thomas Tuchel.

Lukaku has ruffled feathers at Stamford Bridge after an interview he did with Sky in Italy was published on Thursday in which he criticised Tuchel and admitted he was not happy at Chelsea.

However, before Carragher could give his thoughts on the situation, he was interrupted by his fellow pundit.

Having been asked about Lukaku, Carragher went to speak before Souness butted in to comment on the phrasing of the question.

“You say missing a game is enough punishment?” said the former Liverpool and Rangers midfielder.

The camera stayed on Carragher, however, who produced a hilarious reaction to being interrupted.

Clearly left in shock, Carragher smiled before looking up at the crew and then turned to the camera while still smiling and in a visible state of disbelief.

Should Romelu Lukaku be recalled by Chelsea for their next match? Let us know in the comments section below.

Lukaku's comments have cause quite a stir since the interview was released ahead of Chelsea's crunch clash with Liverpool.

Ahead of Sunday's match, Tuchel said: "I don't like it because it brings noise that we don't need. It's just not helpful.

"On the other side, we don't want to make more out of it than it actually is. You know very well how it is – it's very easy to take lines out of context.

"It's very easy to shorten lines and make headlines, then later realise that it's not so bad and maybe not what he meant.

"But let's be honest that we don't like it."

Having omitted Lukaku from his matchday squad, Tuchel hinted at a route back into the side for his striker after the match.

"He's our player, there's always a way back. We'll clear this in Cobham behind closed doors," explained the German.

"Once we've made a decision, club and coach, and once Romelu knows, you'll maybe know also."
