Tottenham were quick to revel in Arsenal's defeat at Newcastle with a brutal social media dig.
Their official Twitter account liked the full-time post from their rivals which confirmed a 2-0 defeat at St James' Park on Monday (May 16) night. It's a result which puts Spurs in the driving seat for fourth spot, with their far superior goal difference meaning they just need to avoid defeat against Norwich in their final game to secure Champions League qualification.
One eagle-eyed fan pointed out: "Tottenham liked Arsenal’s last tweet." Another wrote: "Arsenal is getting trolled by Tottenham admin lmao." The action had others in disbelief.
"No Way Tottenham Liked It" and "Tottenham admin’s wild" read further comments. But after the like went viral, the Tottenham account then removed it.
They'd also wasted no time in reminding fans of how close they now are to playing Champions League football next season. Just a minute after full-time, the account posted: "Next up, Norwich."

Antonio Conte's side should have no problems dispatching the Premier League's basement side, with their relegation to the Championship confirmed weeks ago. So Spurs fans were jubilant after the match.
One fan wrote: “Tonight was pure, unadulterated bottle from Arsenal. No ref excuses to blame, no missed chances to rue, no selection complaints. Nothing to blame but their own ability and mentality.”
Another tweeted: "Poor old Arsenal… everywhere they go."
A third wrote: "What makes it better is Spurs beat Arsenal on Thursday, and stayed in Arsenal players’ heads till Monday & beat em again, Newcastle finished them off."
