Barcelona ‘reignite interest in Federico Bernardeschi as they join AC Milan in race for Juventus forward’
- Barcelona are keen on signing Juventus winger Federico Bernadeschi this year
- The Catalan club reportedly had an approach rejected for the Italian in January
- Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic could move in the opposite direction as part of the deal
Barcelona are maintaining their interest in Juventus winger Federico Bernardeschi.
The Italian forward has been repeatedly linked with a move to the La Liga giants, in a deal that could see Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic move in the opposite direction.
It was rumoured that the Old Lady rejected a €10million plus Rakitic deal during the January transfer window.

Bernardeschi’s move to Barcelona could see Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic go the other way
But according to Spanish news outlet Sport, via Football Italia, Barcelona are planning to make a second offer for the winger which would surely trump any approach by Milan.
Bernardeschi has also been the subject of an approach by AC Milan in the last few months, with the Rossoneri reportedly offering a straight swap with their Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta.
The 26-year-old, who has been capped 24 times by the Italian national team, has struggled to hold down a place in the Juventus first-team this season, having not started a league game for Maurizio Sarri’s side since the start of December.
This is partly due to the number of quality options Sarri has at his disposal at the Turin club, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Juan Cuadrado and Douglas Costa ahead of Bernardeschi in the pecking order of wide options.

In total, Bernardeschi has made 24 appearances in all competitions this season but has only scored once and registered one assist in these games.
And he is likely to play a similar bit-part role at Barcelona, who have Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele and Ansu Fati as player who currently contest for the wide attacking slots at the Nou Camp.
Both Juventus and Barcelona lead their respective top-flight leagues while European football waits for the coronavirus outbreak to subside across the world.
Not only are both Serie A and La Liga suspended indefinitely, but the global virus crisis could also have an impact on the summer transfer window, as major leagues may not have been completed by the summer months.
