The B6 club has already wrapped up Emi Buendia’s signings fromNorwich, Leon Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen, and Danny Ings from Southampton’s fellow Premier League club.

The club rubber-stamped their ambition by bringing the England international forward to Villa Park; As reported, Ings was pushing for a move to a club playing in Europe.

With these three signings, it is clear Villa boss Dean Smith is preparing his squad to replace the output of their talisman Jack Grealish, who joinedManchester City for an English record £100million transfer fee.

But, Villa are not finished with their summer recruitment and have been linked with moves.

Todd Cantwell needs to make the step up and join Aston Villa from recently promoted Norwich, according to ex-Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell (via Football Insider).

Links with the England under-21 international have been simmering all summer and is viewed as a natural fit in Aston Villa’s new-look front line.

The 'marquee' playmaker had a solid season with The Canaries last campaign, as his six goals and six assists contributed heavily to promotion to the Premier League for his boyhood club.

“Cantwell is a really good young player,” Campbell told Football Insider.

“He’s done his time at Norwich; now it’s time for him to step up.

“He’s got his mate there at Villa, hasn’t he? Emi Buendia is there, obviously.

“To me, it seems like Villa are trying to replace Grealish with three or four players rather than one.“

Villa linked with ‘superb’ ex-Barcelona maestro

Rafinha is being pursued by Aston Villa, with PSG holding out for a fee in the region of £8.5million, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The playmaker is worth £13.5m, according to, suggesting he is available for five million less than he is worth.

The 28-year old has played for Barcelona, Inter and PSG, and made two appearances for Brazil.

He will bring a continental pedigree to a Villa side with aspirations of playing in Europe, as he has won three La Liga titles and a Champions League.

He has struggled to find consistent game time for PSG and is reportedly looking to leave the much-fancied French side ahead of the Qatar World Cup next year.

Axel Tuanzebe signs on a season-long loan

Axel Tuanzebe has signed on a season-long loan for Aston Villa from Manchester United.

The 23-year-old, returning for his third loan spell in four years, has signed a contract extension with Manchester United until 2023.

Tuanzebe was an essential part of the Villa team that won promotion from the Championship in the 2018-19 season, appearing in 28 league games.

Villa manager Dean Smith has been keen to bolster his defensive options this summer after the departure of Bjorn Engels to Belgian side Royal Antwerp.

Tuanzebe was announced before Villa’s final pre-season friendly against recently promoted Serie A side Salernitana on Saturday.
