Arsenal are set to hold showdown talks with Alexandre Lacazette over his future at the club. The Gunners are understood to be considering a big-money move for Tammy Abraham from Chelsea, but may need squad space and funds for a deal to go through.
French striker Lacazette appears to be edging closer to the exit door at Arsenal amid rumours of a move for Chelsea target man Abraham.
Lacazette has been linked with a departure from the Gunners this summer after a relatively underwhelming term last season.
The 30-year-old’s contract expires in 12 months time, and this is Arsenal’s final time to cash in on him.
Mikel Arteta is in need of some funds to make an approach for Abraham, with Chelsea slapping a reported £40million price tag on the 23-year-old.
It’s thought that Arsenal are open to selling Lacazette this summer to allow a deal to go through for Abraham.
According to the Sun, the Gunners are willing to accept bids of around £15m for the former Lyon man.
Arsenal may also need to free up some space on their wage bill, with Abraham seeking a pay rise up to £125,000-a-week from the £80,000-a-week salary he’s receiving at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Arteta has seemingly changed his plan to sign a right-back this summer, if reports are to be believed.
Arsenal have been linked with a host of right-backs in recent months, with Hector Bellerin looking set to leave in this transfer window.
Bellerin has told Arteta he wants to go and Inter Milan remain interested in signing the Spaniard.
However, Arteta may well have settled upon one of his current stars to fill the role.

Football.london reports Cedric has impressed Arteta in pre-season and is set to start the first Premier League game of the campaign against Brentford.
Cedric, 29, started just eight league matches last season and was often used out of position at left-back as cover for the injured Kieran Tierney.
But the Portuguese has seemingly done enough in recent weeks to catch the eye of Arteta and other Arsenal coaches.
Arteta could therefore hold off pursuing a right-back and use that part of his budget on other areas.
