Arsenal are reportedly ready to sign both Moises Caicedo and Jorginho in an exciting double deadline day swoop as boss Mikel Arteta aims to lead his team to their first Premier League title since 2004. The Gunners have stormed to the top of the table after winning 16 of their 19 matches.
Arsenal missed out on signing Mykhaylo Mudryk earlier this month after their move for the Ukraine international was hijacked by Chelsea. But the north London giants have since been able to snap up winger Leandro Trossard from Brighton and centre-back Jakub Kiwior from Spezia Calcio. Arteta, however, is desperate for more arrivals.
According to Sky Sports, Arsenal have agreed a deal with Chelsea to take Jorginho to the Emirates Stadium, with the clubs and the player all hopeful a move will be sorted in time. Jorginho has started 15 of his team’s Premier League matches this season but is into the last six months of his Blues deal and looks set to head for the Stamford Bridge exit before the club lose him for nothing in the summer.
Jorginho’s move to Arsenal will not affect the Gunners’ pursuit of Caicedo, who has been pushing for a move away from Brighton. The Seagulls are desperate to hang on to the Ecuador midfielder after rejecting offers from both the Gunners and Chelsea. But Arsenal are ready to get the deal done if the south coast club change their mind on the player.

That is, however, unlikely to happen with Caicedo a key player under Roberto De Zerbi. Jorginho meanwhile joined Chelsea from Napoli in 2018 and has gone on to win the Champions League, Europa League and Club World Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge.
The 31-year-old has played 213 times for his current employers but could well find himself falling down the pecking order if he stays in west London, with owner Todd Boehly splashing the cash to bring in a whole host of players.
Caicedo, meanwhile, has become one of the best midfielders in the Premier League since breaking into the Brighton first-team last spring. The 21-year-old is being targeted by Arsenal and Chelsea thanks to his stellar performances for the Seagulls, despite the fact he has only ever appeared in 26 top-flight games in England.

And at the weekend, the Ecuador international took to Instagram to push for a move away as he wrote: “I am grateful to Mr Bloom and Brighton for giving me the chance to come to the Premier League and I feel I have always done my best for them.
“I am proud to be able to bring in a record transfer fee for Brighton which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to be successful. The fans have taken me into their hearts and they will always be in my heart so I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity.”
