With Alexandre Lacazette edging closer to departing Arsenal, the Gunners should look to sign his replacement in the January transfer window. If they did so, they might be able to sneak in ahead of Premier League rivals Liverpool to sign Erling Haaland’s successor at Red Bull Salzburg.
Haaland departed Salzburg in January 2020 and has since become one of the best strikers in Europe at Borussia Dortmund.
He is set to be heavily in demand in the upcoming January and summer transfer windows, with a range of top clubs interested in him.
With a fee of at least £75million being needed to prize him away from Signal Iduna Park, the Norwegian is likely to be out of Arsenal’s price range.
But a striker who could be easily signed by the Gunners is Karim Adeyemi, who replacing Haaland in Austria.
Adeyemi has scored 15 goals in 23 games this season, helping Salzburg to secure top spot in the Austrian Bundesliga.

With the 19-year-old bang in form in front of goal, he is attracting a range of suitors, including Liverpool and Barcelona.
Salzburg club president Harald Lurzerg has even admitted that the striker is likely to move on next summer.
That could make him the perfect January target for Arsenal, who will be in the market for a new forward.
Lacazette has become the partner for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up top, but the Frenchman is out of contract next season and is thought to be set to depart the Emirates Stadium.

According to the Mirror, Adeyemi is being considered as a possible replacement for Lacazette by the Gunners.
But with the likes of Liverpool, Barca and Bayern Munich all interested, Arsenal will have to get their bid in early if they are to sign him.
The best opportunity to do this will be in the January window, which opens in just over a month’s time.
If the Gunners can complete a quick deal for the striker, they would secure the long-term replacement for Lacazette and allow him crucial time to settle in the Premier League.
They will face a potential obstacle if they wait until the summer, with Mikel Arteta’s side needing to secure qualification for a European competition to stand a chance of signing Adeyemi.
But by wrapping up a deal in January, they will be able to sign a man who could be the next Haaland, which could prove to be a masterstroke.
Bringing in Adeyemi would certainly fit in with the Gunners’ transfer strategy under Arteta, with the Spaniard preferring to bring in young, hungry players.
With Haaland set to draw the eye of many of Adeyemi’s potential suitors, Arsenal should try to beat them all to the man who has replaced him so well in Austria.
