Arsenal cult hero Emmanuel Frimpong wants his old club to sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and has picked his choice to replace him as captain.
Aubameyang was dropped from the squad and stripped of the captaincy earlier this week for disciplinary reasons after he returned late from an unauthorised trip to France.
Fellow forward Alexandre Lacazette captained the Gunners to wins over Southampton and West Ham United in Aubameyang's absence on Saturday and Wednesday, respectively.
Frimpong has now called for Aubameyang to be sold in January and is hoping to see left back Kieran Tierney handed the captaincy by manager Mikel Arteta.
Speaking to The Sun, Frimpong said: "I feel like in any profession there must be a professional attitude.
"And we all know Aubameyang has had one or two problems with coming late so I feel it was the right call.
"He’s the captain and there has to be an example so the younger players in the squad can follow."
Aubameyang had been the club's captain since replacing Granit Xhaka in 2019 when the Swiss midfielder was also stripped of the title.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker's Arsenal future is currently in doubt following the incident, with his form also having dipped since he signed a new contract in September last year.
Frimpong admitted he would not be opposed to his former club selling Aubameyang in the near future, with Barcelona having recently been linked with a move.
"I think it would be good for Arsenal to cash in. Look at his age, he's getting older, and we need a new striker that we can have for the next five years," he added.
"He’s a great player but this is the best time to cash in. It will be difficult though, as he's on very good wages. It's not going to be easy to get him out."
As for who should replace Aubameyang as Arsenal skipper, academy graduate Frimpong, who made 16 first team appearances for the club, has chosen Tierney as his next captain.
"I would like Tierney to be the captain," revealed Frimpong, who retired two years ago aged 27 due to injury.
"I also really like Ben White. I think Ben White can become a future captain for Arsenal.
"Most likely it’s going to be Xhaka again which I’m not sure about as we've been there, done that. We need someone fresh. I would personally give it to Tierney for now."
