Arsenal chief Edu says Arsenal already know how to get the best out of Partey

Arsenal chief Edu has outlined exactly how they plan on getting the best out of new signing Thomas Partey.

The Ghana international has signed from Atletico Madrid right at the end of the transfer window.

With minutes to spare on deadline day, the Gunners confirmed the arrival of Partey.

It will no doubt delight Mikel Arteta who had made the 27-year-old his top target when the market opened.

He will provide the steel and power that the Spaniard craved in midfield, with him viewing the current crop as a soft touch.

And there is already a clear plan on how to incorporate Partey into the first-team.

“Thomas has all the right attributes to be a top player for Arsenal," Edu said.

"He is a leader on and off the pitch and he is exactly the kind of player and person we want at the club.

"We already feel like we know Thomas very well based on the work we have done analysing his performances closely in recent times.

The transfer also includes a £2.5m signing-on fee and Partey's agent will receive a 10 per agent commission.

Arteta added: “We have been watching Thomas for a while, so we’re now delighted to add such a high-quality player to our squad.
