Inter Milan could reportedly be forced to sell one of their four most valuable assets in order to clear their debts and that could be good news for north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham. Collectively, both clubs expressed an interest in a number of Inter players during the summer transfer window and the Serie A champions are still under pressure to sell more stars in efforts to raise funds.
Following the departure of title-winning boss Antonio Conte, the Inter board ruled that the club must sell a number of high-profile players to ease their financial crisis.
As a result, right-wing-back Archaf Hakimi headed to Paris Saint-Germain for around £60million before Romelu Lukaku re-joined Chelsea for £97.5m.
Inter were still feeling the heat towards the end of the transfer window in August though and there was plenty of interest in striker Lautaro Martinez.
Yet the board were reluctant to let both Lukaku and his former strike partner Martinez leave in the same transfer window.

That’s why despite having a bid in the region of £60m accepted, Tottenham’s move for the Argentine international was waved off by Inter.
Yet according to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian giants are still attempting to solve their financial problems.
The report states that Inter may still be forced to sell one of their most-prized assets in order to raise enough cash to clear their remaining debt.
It’s understood Inter still need to find around £85m to balance the books and the easiest and quickest way of doing that would be by flogging one star player.

Alessandro Bastoni, Nicolo Barella, Milan Skriniar and Martinez are mentioned in the report as players who could be sacrificed.
However, Martinez is believed to be on the brink of committing his long-term future to the club with a bumper new contract.
Arsenal were also sniffing around the lethal finisher in the summer as they prepare to replace Alexandre Lacazette, whose contract is up at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have been interested in Slovakian international defender Milan Skriniar.
Spurs tried to sign the former Manchester City target under Jose Mourinho and re-explored a deal once again this summer before it was decided Skriniar was out of their reach.
Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy are now unlikely to fork out a substantial fee for another centre-back following the capture of Cristian Romero from Atalanta earlier this summer.
Barella is another player that has been linked with a move to the Premier League.
Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea have reported interest, though Inter are understood to want to renew the midfielder’s contract.
