Manchester United fans were blown away by Amad Diallo's outrageous first senior goal for the club – five minutes after coming on against AC Milan – which emulated club legend Javier Hernandez.

The 18-year-old came on in the second half after Anthony Martial limped off the pitch following a goalless first half in the Europa League.

And he did not need long to make a mark on the first leg against the Italian side.

Bruno Fernandes spotted Diallo's darting run behind the Milan defence five minutes into the second half, floating a high ball into the penalty box.

Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma came to meet it, with the Ivorian turning his back to goal.

But it was all part of the plan, with the teenager pushing his head back to meet the ball and loop it over the hapless shot-stopper to give United a 1-0 lead.

It was eventually equalled by a battling Milan, with Simon Kjaer heading at pace past Dean Henderson in stoppage time.

And the United faithful did not take long to spot the similarities to a goal scored by a legend of the Red Devils.

"A Javier Hernandez-esque finish by Diallo," one supporter said.

The Mexican, who spent six seasons at United, scored in exactly the same way during his debut season in a 2-1 win over Stoke.

Another commented: "Diallo just did a Chicharito Hernandez!

"Making a goal after a few minutes on field and also with the back of the head."

While a third made a bold prediction, with: "Diallo's goal reminded me of the Hernandez back header against Stoke. His confidence will go through the roof now."

And a fourth added: "Never thought I would see a better backwards header than Hernandez vs Stoke."
