Alisson has committed his future to Liverpool, and the Brazilian keeper has signed a new contract on Merseyside.

The Brazilian joined Jurgen Klopp's side in 2018 from Roma, and he has gone on to establish himself as one of the best keepers in the game.

The 28-year-old's deal was originally meant to expire in 2024, however, he has penned a new deal that will extend his stay at Anfield by six years to 2027.

Alisson has been key to Liverpool's success in recent years, and since he join the Reds he has claimed a Premier League and a Champions League triumph.

Alisson said: "I think I didn't waste too much time to think about that. It's something we just built in those last three years, the confidence, the trust that I have in the club and the club has in myself.

"Me and my family, we are really happy here. My kids are settled in England, in a different country, but they are growing up in that way.

"So we are really happy. I'm really glad that I can keep going on with my work here, doing a good job here. So, I'm really happy to make this decision – that is not hard for me.

"We have to set goals and we have to set them high – winning everything that we are playing [for], the Champions League, Premier League, the cups, everything. I think we can start from there."

Liverpool have been tying their stars down to new contracts in recent weeks.

Klopp has already secured new deals for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho this summer, and Alisson now joins the two outfield stars in committing his long term future to the club.

However, Liverpool still have a whole host of players whose contracts expire in 2023, including Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk.

Klopp will be keen to avoiding losing more players on free transfers, as he did with Georginio Wijnaldum this summer to PSG, and talks for new deals are expected to start soon.

Liverpool haven't made any major moves in this summers transfer window despite being heavily linked with players such as Kylian Mbappe.

Instead, Klopp is looking to double down on the spine of the squad he has and secure his stars' future this summer.
