Week 4 Fantasy Football Flex Rankings for standard, superflex, 2-QB leagues

Last week was another one where position players stacked up well with quarterbacks at the top of the end-of-week fantasy rankings. In standard leagues, we saw four position players in the top 15 — Mike Williams, Cooper Kupp, Kareem Hunt, and Ezekiel Elliot. Four out of 15 is a pretty decent clip. In PPR leagues, 13 of the top 24 overall players were non-QBs. That’s an incredible showing for them (or a bad showing for quarterbacks, depending on how you look at it), but when you take a deeper dive at the results in standard leagues, you’ll see Jimmy Garoppolo outscored Aaron Jones, Daniel Jones outscored Derrick Henry, and Mac Jones outscored Najee Harris. In PPR leagues, RBs, WRs, and TEs draw closer to quarterbacks, but we know quarterbacks still have higher floors in general, which is why you see so many toward the top of our Week 4 superflex rankings.

Josh Allen looked elite again in Week 3, and he finally takes our top spot in the overall two-QB/superflex rankings. Quarterbacks who are on the wrong side of blowouts are attractive because of garbage time (see Jalen Hurts on MNF), and quarterbacks who are blowing someone out (like Ryan Tannehill could be at the Jets this week) have the potential to slow down late in the game. Either way, you almost always want a QB in your superflex spot if you have the choice. Not only are the floors higher, but so are the ceilings.

Of course, you won’t be choosing between Trevor Lawrence and Adam Thielen for a superflex spot because Thielen will be safely in your lineup at WR, so it’s highly unlikely you have a position player better no matter how disappointing Lawrence has been.

WEEK 4 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

As we move down the list in the standard flex rankings, we ranked receivers with higher ceilings above the handcuff running backs and tight ends. Some handcuff running backs, such as Darrel Williams and J.D. McKissic, might have higher floors than a guy like Darnell Mooney, but we like to chase the upside of best-case scenario when making these decisions.
