Nelson Agholor is getting a fresh start in Las Vegas, according to reports.
The wideout has signed a one-year deal with the Raiders as he moves on from the City of Brotherly Love. Agholor’s time with the Eagles was … interesting. He came into the league with expectations as a first-round pick in the 2015 draft. He had some solid production, with his best year being 2017 when he finished with 62 receptions for 768 yards and eight touchdowns. He even helped lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory over the Patriots.

But Eagles fans likely won’t remember Agholor for his success. Instead, they will remember him for his drops.
Agholor’s drops became a running joke that reached a high point when a Philly resident referenced the receiver in a TV interview. While answering questions about catching babies from a burning building, Hakim Laws said, “My man just started throwing babies out the window and we was catching them, unlike Agholor.”
So, naturally, when reports came out that the Raiders had signed Agholor, NFL fans had nothing but jokes about the receiver’s drops.
Even Pro Football Focus got in on the action with fact-based jokes.
Everyone else’s responses were as expected.
While Twitter had jokes, it will be interesting to see whether Agholor can find success with the Raiders. Eagles fans can be tough to deal with, so a change of scenery will probably be good for him. We’ll have to wait to see whether he’s catching passes from Derek Carr or Marcus Mariota, but expect him to get some playing time on a Raiders offense that’s currently lacking receivers.
