The Tennessee Titans might be ready to move on from quarterback Ryan Tannehill with a potential trade up in this year’s NFL Draft. The Titans are being heavily rumoured to make a move for their new quarterback, in a class featuring four players at the position – CJ Stroud (Ohio State), Bryce Young (Alabama), Will Levis (Kentucky) and Anthony Richardson (Florida).
With Young and Stroud projected to go in the top two of the draft to the Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans, it has been reported that the Cardinals have received as many as six trade offers to give up their #3 pick.
The Titans, who currently have pick #11 overall, are seen as the favourites to make the move up – with it being reported that their front office are enamored by Richardson.
The Florida quarterback is seen as a raw prospect, but potentially having the highest-ceiling with his incredible athletic profile and huge right arm – being compared to both Josh Allen and Cam Newton.
And NFL.com writer Nick Shook has indicated that the Titans will make a choice on their future quarterback in the coming weeks.
He said: “They do not have their franchise quarterback, I don’t think they see Tannehill as their guy.
“They played both Malik Willis and Josh Dobbs last season and they have a new general manager who might want to go in a new direction.”
Like Richardson, Willis was seen as a raw prospect who might need time to adust to the NFL.
However, Richardson’s athleticism and raw traits are seen as generational, which will likely see him drafted very early, with many predicting the Titans to trade up for him.
