Team Europe need a miracle heading into singles day at the Ryder Cup on Sunday with USA holding a six-point lead. The first four sessions have been dominated by the Americans with Padraig Harrington’s team struggling in Wisconsin.
Paul Casey, Matt Fitzpatrick, Rory McIlroy, Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood and Bernd Wiesberger are all yet to win a single point for Europe.
Sergio Garcia and Jon Rahm have been the only saving grave for the Europeans with the Spanish pair winning three matches together.
But Rahm and Garcia won’t be enough for Europe to overturn the record score in Wisconsin.
Team USA have never taken a bigger lead into the final day of the famous golf event and require just three-and-a-half points from the 12 singles to regain the Ryder Cup.
However, Steve Stricker’s side may well be chasing history as they could seal the biggest winning margin ever in the Ryder Cup.
There have been three contests since 1979 which has seen a winning margin of nine points.
If Team USA win five or more points in today’s singles sessions, then they will blow that record out of the water.
