Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder rematch confirmed for this summer in USA

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will face off again in the summer, Frank Warren has confirmed.

The Gypsy King’s promoter says the showdown is likely to take place in the USA.

Fury stopped Wilder in the seventh round of their high-profile heavyweight fight last month. The first bout in 2018 resulted in a controversial draw.

Wilder had 30 days to call a rematch and the American ace has now formally notified Fury’s representatives.

The 34-year-old confirmed over the weekend that he wouldn’t drift quietly into retirement.

"Your king is here and I'm not going anywhere, for the war has just begun," Wilder said on social media.

"I'm a king that will never give up and will fight to the death. I am a warrior, I am strong and I will be back."

Fury’s wife, Paris, told The Mirror that she wants her husband to beat Anthony Joshua and then call it quits.

“I’d like him to beat Anthony Joshua and then stop,” Paris said. “He’s in the ring with supreme boxers and it is a dangerous sport.

“We both know the risks. I know one shot can change everything.”

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, hailed Fury after his win over Wilder but claimed his man still has the edge.

“I always thought Joshua could beat Tyson Fury ”, said Hearn to fight hype.

“Tyson Fury has consistently proven me wrong on a lot of things, but I don’t believe he proves me wrong in this case.

“I just think Joshua has the fundamentals to beat him.

“Joshua is very fast, very strong, and he can fight on the inside, he can fight on the back foot, and he can fight on the wrong foot.”
