Tyson Fury declared himself the ‘best heavyweight of his era’ after retaining his WBC title with an 11th-round knockout of Deontay Wilder here on Saturday.
Fury said: ‘When it comes down to it, every time I’ve delivered. I can only be the best of my day, I’ve done that: I’m the best fighter in my era.
‘Without sounding too sharp and clever, I believe that I could beat any man in history, any man born I believe I’ve got a really good chance of beating him.’

But the Gypsy King will have to work fast if he is to become the undisputed world heavyweight champion.
He has been given 30 days by the WBC to set up a title unifier against the winner of Anthony Joshua’s rematch against Olexsandr Usyk for the other big belts.
Otherwise he will be ordered to defend his WBC belt against in a less meaningful fight against Dillian Whyte or Otto Wallin, who clash later this month. The deadline looks unrealistic. It would require him to make provisional deals with Joshua and Usyk.
Fury could threaten to relinquish his title. Alternatively co-promoters Bob Arum and Frank Warren are expected to raise an offer of step-aside money already on the table for Joshua to allow Fury to go straight to Usyk.
Wilder, meanwhile, was released from hospital on Saturday night after treatment for a broken hand.
Unbeaten Fury is confident that none of his heavyweight rivals can topple him in his career
