The wife of Oleksandr Usyk has sent a deathly warning to Tyson Fury with their heavyweight showdown now set to go ahead at Wembley on April 29. After a week of back-and-for sparring between the two champions, an agreement is now nearing after the Ukrainian seemingly called Fury’s bluff over his proposal for a 70-30 split.

‘The Gypsy King’ then appeared to move the goalposts again, posting an online video where he proposed scrapping any rematch clause. It led to accusations that Fury, 34, was attempting to negotiate his way out of the bout, with Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krassyuk accusing the Englishman of “trying to escape.”

Fury also lost his temper with talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan, who had frequently called out his apparent delaying tactics. But then in further footage, Fury finally confirmed an agreement had been reached and he vowed to now come off social media to concentrate on his training camp.

Usyk, 36, has also been vocal throughout the saga, at one point demanding Fury vacate his belts if he did not want the unification clash. But now his partner Katerina has arguably delivered the most savage online blow of the lot.

She shared a post by @boxing_memes which depicted ‘The Cat’ as a cartoon version of the Grim Reaper, cloaked up and wielding a scythe. Behind him lie three opening changing room doors, with posters of Brits Tony Bellew, Derek Chisora and Anthony Joshua – the three fighters he’s beaten on UK soil – on each as trails of blood run from inside.

And Usyk is knocking on a fourth door, which is locked and has an image of Fury on the front. The insinuation that the Morecambe man is soon to become Usyk’s fourth victim in Britain is clear.

The post was captioned: “According to Tyson Fury it’s a go for April 29 against Usyk!
(Let’s hope it happens) #furyuysk #tysonFury” Indeed, boxing fans now eagerly await news that the bout is signed, sealed and delivered.

Tension has been brewing between the pair ever since Fury’s one-sided win over Derek Chisora at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in December. Afterwards, he called Usyk into the ring and the two engaged in an intense stare-down.
