  • Arnold Allen and Max Holloway will go head-to-head on April 15 in Kansas
  • The mouthwatering featherweight showdown will headline UFC Kansas City
  • The winner of April’s main event could go on to fight for the title in the future

A mouthwatering featherweight clash between Max Holloway and Arnold Allen will headline UFC Kansas City on April 15, the promotion has confirmed.

UFC Kansas City is set to take place at the T-Mobile Center, with Holloway and Allen going head-to-head in a five-round featherweight bout.

Allen is coming off of the biggest win of his career when he defeated Calvin Kattar back in October and is currently ranked fourth in the division.

The Englishman will be looking to make it 13 consecutive wins when he faces Holloway, who many consider to be one of the best fighters to ever compete at featherweight.

Allen (19-1) has not lost a fight in the UFC since he signed for the promotion back in 2015.

As for Holloway (23-7), ‘Blessed’ has not fought since his defeat to Alexander Volkanovski back in July.

The defeat to Volkanovski had many fans wondering what’s next for the number one ranked contender.

July’s defeat to the champion means that Holloway is currently 0-3 against the Australian.

Before the three fights with Volkanovski, many believed that Holloway would go down as the greatest featherweight of all time.

Holloway has beaten the likes of Jose Aldo, Anthony Pettis, Frankie Edgar, Brian Ortega, Jeremy Stephens and Charles Oliveira in what has been a glittering career so far for ‘Blessed’.

A win for either men could be huge going forward as both will be looking to win the 145-pound title.

With that being said, both Holloway and Allen will have to wait a little longer for a crack at the title.

With Volkanovski moving up to lightweight to fight Islam Makhachev for the 155-pound title, Yair Rodriguez will face Josh Emmett for the interim featherweight title at UFC 284.
