Jake Paul claims Tommy Fury was a "fanboy" when the pair met in a Manchester gym ahead of his boxing debut three years ago.
Fury has claimed he was hardly aware of the younger Paul brother when they started feuding earlier this year, but Paul claims that the Love Island star queued up for photos when the pair met in 2018.
Paul was in Manchester with his brother Logan to prepare for his white collar boxing fight with fellow YouTuber Deji Olatunji when a young Fury – a year before shooting to fame on Love Island – visited the brothers in the gym.
A photo recently resurfaced on Instagram showing Fury with Logan Paul, and Jake claims there are photos out there of he and Tommy together as well after the boxer visited their training session.
"He asked to take a picture with me," Paul revealed to Mirror Fighting. "I don't know if he ever uploaded it.
"This guy is a fanboy, it's funny you mention that because I clearly remember it was him and his little 'boxer' friends and I had no idea who these guys were.
"They all sort of lined up and took pictures with us, it's just funny how this has evolved since really that moment."
Since taking the photo at Ricky Hatton's gym, where the Paul brothers set up shop for the final days of their training camps to face KSI and Deji respectively, the relationship between Jake and Fury has soured.
Earlier this year, Fury's brother, world heavyweight champion Tyson, called on Paul to fight the Love Island star, and the pair engaged in a vicious war of words.
And the bout could be next for both men as Fury flies out to compete on Paul's undercard next weekend against MMA veteran Anthony Taylor.
"It was my idea to bring Tommy over," Jake explained. "I've been trying to do that for a while, I even wanted him on the undercard of my fight with Ben Askren, but it wasn't possible.
"We've finally made it happen and I want to see what this kid is made of; I want to see how he resonates with a US audience and put him a bigger platform.
"Let's be honest, nobody's ever bought a Tommy Fury pay-per-view, nobody tunes in and buys pay-per-views to watch Tommy Fury.
"Maybe people see that he won because he posts about it on Instagram, but nobody's ever actually bought a Tommy Fury pay-per-view so I have to build him up."
Fury has vowed to stop former Bellator fighter Taylor early before moving on to a bout with Paul as the second of his two-fight deal with broadcaster Showtime.
And he claimed he would "break every bone" in the YouTube star's face after he and Taylor brought his girlfriend Molly Mae Hague into their trash talk ahead of their clash on August 29.
"I will break every bone in his face," Fury said. "You don't bring people's loved ones into it. It's a fight. It's nothing to do with them, leave them out of it," he said.
