Frank Warren says Liam Williams can beat Demetrius Andrade despite judge dispute

Liam Williams has to go out tonight and show he doesn't need the judges to beat Demetrius Andrade.

There was a big problem getting a UK judge out to Florida for the WBO middleweight title.

In the end we were told it wasn't allowed due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.

That is not ideal but I believe Williams can go out there and ensure it doesn't matter in the end.

Williams has improved so much lately and he has been chasing this fight with Andrade for some time.

I've always believed he has the beating of the American and I think he will show that tonight.

It's been four years since he lost to Liam Smith at light-middleweight.

In their first fight I think he was on the way to winning until he got a nasty cut.

Gary Lockett was his trainer then and he pulled him out.

In the second fight, Smith did his job but Williams never seemed comfortable at the weight.

I also felt after that he needed a change in trainer and when Dom Ingle was mentioned I felt that was a great move for him.

Williams went up to middleweight and has grown superbly into the division showing now he has real power.

I think it also helps that he trains away from home in Sheffield. Some fighters need that camp mentality and lack of home comfort to give them an edge.

It is a tough challenge, though, against a really good world champion in Andrade.

There is an extra spice to this with Williams being my man and Andrade being promoted by Eddie Hearn.
