Floyd Mayweather left "p****d off" by Logan Paul for "disrespectful" move

Floyd Mayweather is training for his upcoming clash with Logan Paul “like a real Mayweather fight”, following a series of “disrespectful” moves by the YouTuber, according to one of Mayweather’s long-time training partners.

Mayweather and Paul, who boasts an impressive 23 million subscribers on YouTube, repeatedly clashed at the first press conference for their upcoming bout earlier this month, with Mayweather calling Paul a "fake fighter" and Paul mocking Mayweather's past legal troubles.

However, after the conclusion of the press conference, it was Paul’s younger brother, Jake, who stole the show. The younger of the Paul siblings, who is 3-0 as a professional boxer, came face to face with Mayweather and proceeded to take the 44-year-olds hat.

Mayhem followed, with Mayweather’s large security detail attacking the YouTuber and the former Olympian claiming he would “kill that mother f****r”.

In the weeks following the infamous ‘gotcha hat’ incident, it appears Mayweather has stepped up his training regime and intends on punishing the Paul brothers for disrespecting him, with Logan in the firing line. According to long-time training partner Denis Douglin, the brothers have “p****d him off now, so he’s turning it up.”

"I think Floyd thought taking his hat was disrespectful and it looks like it has lit a fire under him from what I saw at the gym,” Doughlin told Betway Insider.

“I was very impressed. I think that had to do with the Paul brothers p******g him off.

"Floyd’s one of the greatest in the world – but I didn't think that he was going to train intensely for this. What I saw today from Floyd was very impressive."

“I was kinda expecting him to do a cookie-cutter workout, shadowbox and spar someone really bad just to stay active. That’s what I was expecting,” Douglin continued.

“But I came into the gym at around midnight and the energy and atmosphere in the gym felt like a real Mayweather fight. Floyd looked great, man – he didn’t miss a beat.

"Still cocky, still having fun, still crafty – it was a real sight to see. Watching him get rounds of sparring, hitting the bag, on the pads – he had great energy. I learned a lot just watching that.

"Floyd was to be the best in the world and he retired. So while he’s not taking this fight with Logan Paul as seriously as a real fight against Errol Spence for example, he’s taking it as seriously as he needs to for what this fight is – which is for a kid who’s a little bit crazy and disrespectful, who does not understand the craft of boxing."

Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul is set to take place on June 6 in Miami, Florida.

Headlined by an exhibition between 50-0 Mayweather and 0-1 Paul, the card also features a highly anticipated rematch between light heavyweights Jean Pascal and Badou Jack, Jarrett Hurd vs. Luis Arias, and the return of Viddal Riley who many may know as the former boxing trainer of YouTuber KSI.
