Conor McGregor has mocked rival Floyd Mayweather for wearing gloves because of the coronavirus.
The boxer took the precaution while meeting fans at a meet and greet in the UK.
The virus has infected more than 110,000 people worldwide, with the number of deaths climbing to almost 4,000.
Meanwhile. nearly 300 people have tested positive for it in the UK.
However, after seeing the picture of Mayweather on the weekend, McGregor laughed at his expense on Twitter : “Hahah brilliant. The gloves” before posting a laughing emoji.
The UFC star briefly left the Octagon to face the American in a boxing contest in 2017, with the 43-year-old extending his unblemished record to 50-0 thanks to a 10th round knockout.
Rumours of a potential rematch have never disappeared and the Irishman is confident they will meet again.
He said: “I done phenomenal in that bout. And the only reason I lost that bout was because I prepared for a back-footed Philly shell style of opponent. And when the fight was like that, I was picking him apart.
“Then, he came forward and I wasn’t sinking into my shots like I am now with my boxing coaches, guys who are drilling specific boxing things into me again. I know I beat Floyd if we rematch – when we rematch.
“He’s not going to do a mixed martial arts fight like it was supposed to be! It was supposed to be me boxing and then we’ll do a mixed martial arts bout.
“That’s what was said. It wasn’t written, but it was a verbal agreement, right. Obviously, that’s not gonna happen.
“I’m not even going to push him on that either. But I would like to box him, that would be a good rematch.”
Mayweather, who was famously nicknamed ‘Money’ during his decorated career, retired after beating McGregor and insists any comeback must be lucrative.
He said: “We talked about the Conor McGregor fight, we talked about the Khabib fight.
“For myself, the number is $600m. If I’m going to go out there and risk it, it’d have to be worth it.”
