Jake Paul’s first boxing match on Showtime pay-per-view will bring out a who’s who of personalities as part of the broadcast for his Aug. 29 showdown with Tyron Woodley at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Paul’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
Joining veteran sportscaster Brian Custer on the telecast will be newly crowned Bellator MMA featherweight champion AJ McKee and Jake Paul’s older brother, Logan. Mauro Ranallo and Al Bernstein will be calling the action at ringside with MMA journalist Ariel Helwani serving as the special guest analyst and will also handle the in-ring post-fight interviews.
Barstool Sports president Dave Portnoy and “Pardon My Take” host Dan Katz will also be part of the star-studded announce team as part of a fully integrated sponsorship from Barstool Sportsbook, complete with in-arena and telecast branding. Portnoy and Katz will provide sports betting segments throughout the evening.
Also joining the broadcast are MMA reporter Phoenix Carnevale, who will be the roving reporter for fight night and, of course, the legendary Jimmy Lennon Jr. will be the in-ring announcer.
It’s a jam-packed night of action that stretches beyond the main event.
WBC/WBO featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano will be defending her titles against super bantamweight world champion Yamileth Mercado co-featured bout and Ivan Baranchyk will aim to spoil the undefeated record of Cleveland’s Montana Love. A pair of United Kingdom fighters will make their stateside debut as Daniel Dubois takes on Juiseppe Angelo Cusumano while Tyson Fury’s younger brother, Tommy, squares off with Anthony Taylor to open the show.
It’s certain to be one of the most talked-about fights of 2021 and will have a matching broadcast team to handle the night of festivities.
